Cerrado del Aguila Golf Club, located next to the racecourse, forms part of the expanding Mijas "Golf Valley".

For me Cerrado de Aguila Golf is arguably the best 9 hole golf resort on the coast. I have played it on a few occasions and found the whole golfing experience very satisfying. The wide American style fairways are generally forgiving, add to that a masterful bit of course planning and superb views all along the route and a beautifully new modern and stunning new club house and you have all the ingredients for a fine days golfing in the heart of the Costa del Golf.

This spectacular and technical course, with its lakes and wide fairways, sea and mountain views and spacious greens, it is sure to satisfy even the most demanding golfer. Due to the accessibility of the terrain, the course can be walked quite comfortably, I took around 2 hours 15 minutes for 9 holes walking. The course can boasts to having one of the coasts longest Par 5 holes at around 515 Metres.

The resort has put plenty of resources into the practice and teaching department with large areas set aside for the driving range, chipping, bunker and putting green. The golf academy offers a wide range of classes from beginners to lower handicapped players starting from around 59 Euros a month.

Although the recently opened club house ( 2008 ) is a truly modern design it does blends perfectly into the surrounding hills and countryside of Mijas. The club house offers a well equipped pro shop , Padel and Tennis courts, a large gymnasium and fitness center on the lower floor along with personal instruction if required and a quality restaurant and snack bar with a large terrace providing superb views over the Mediterranean, coast, the city of Fuengirola and the surrounding countryside.

It was designed by Mr. Ignacio García Gómez & Mr.Francisco Navarro Collado to suit all player levels. It is a par 35 nine-hole course; with a further nine holes currently under development to form a par 71 course.
