Situated in the Mecca of European Golf, Aloha Golf Course in Nueva Andalucia is characterised by varied vegetation all around. A natural golf course, each of the 18 holes at Aloha is never like the other.
Basque (Euskara in Basque) is the language spoken by the Basque inhabitants of Pyrenees in northern Spain, more specifically a Spanish autonomous community known as the Basque Country. The cultural autonomy is reflected in the names given to the holes at the Aloha golf course.
The first hole is named Tu tranquilo (Take it easy) to the second Uresandi (lots of water) describing the existence of three lakes at Aloha. Third hole named Los Olivos (Olive trees), fourth named Cortavitarte (short), fifth named La Fuente (Fountain) describing the fountain situated, sixth Prunus-Prisardi (Plum trees) to the seventh hole El Ruedo (Bullring). The eighth hole celebrates the magnificent view of the Penablanca Mountain and is aptly named Penablanca. The ninth is called El Jorobado (The hunchback) while the tenth, originally the first hole of the course is named after the course designer Javier Arana. The mountains offer a view of eagles and is best seen from the eleventh hole named Las Aguilas (The eagles) while the twelfth due to its difficulty level is termed as Cuidiao (be careful). The El Algarrobo (Carob tree) comprises of the thirteenth hole while the view from the fourteenth tee inspired the name of Curlucho. The fifteenth hole is on an ancient track to Camino Ronda, a town uphill. After mountains and lakes and eagles, its time to celebrate and hum a tune at the sixteenth tee for Cancionero implies a merry singing mood! From the seventeenth Obelix to the last named Vistos describing the excellent view of the Aloha golf club.
