Santiago airport ( Aeropuerto de Santiago de Compostela ) handled some 1.944.068 passengers in 2009 and 20.166 flights operations. It is currently the 17th busiest airport in Spain and gateway to the picturesque north west of mainland Spain.

This is neat clean and functional airport and feeds the city of Santiago de Compostela, the beautiful area Rias Baixas located on the west coast of Galicia and Coruna which is situated around 75 kms North of Santiago.

Arrivals: There are two baggage reclaim halls: hall A, for domestic and Schengen flights, and hall B, for both non-Schengen and Schengen flights. In the first hall, there are baggage claim offices for Air Europa, Spanair and Iberia airlines; Ryanair has an office in the terminal's main lobby. There are five baggage reclaim carousels, three in Hall A and two in Hall B.

Departures: For non-Schengen flights the gates located at either end of the corridor are equipped with passport control checkpoints. There are 22 check-in desks in the main lobby and 12 boarding gates. Ryanair and Iberia fly direct to Santiago from Gatwick and Stansted.



Catering/ Shopping: There is an area, exclusively for passengers, where you will find cafeterias and duty free shops.

Parking: The airport boasts four car parks, as well as an area for parking buses: general car park, long-stay, short-stay and a valet parking service. In total there are more than 1,400 parking spaces for private vehicles and 248 for hire cars. There are six automatic payment machines where you can pay by cash and one manual machine where you can pay either by cash or by credit card.

Has capacity for 1.300 vehicles, the charges are : From minute 0 to minute 30, €0.014389 per minute; from minute 31 to minute 60, €0.017987 per minute; from minute 61, €0.016638 per minute; daily maximum up to four days €10.95; daily maximum as from the fifth day, €8.75. Long-stay car park. This area has a capacity for 132 vehicles, the charges are : First day, €10.75; second day, €21.50; third day, €32.25; fourth day, €43. From the fifth day, €4.30 per day. Capacity:

Short stay car park. The short stay parking area has 8 parking spaces, the charges are: From 0 to 10 minutes, €0.20/minute; from 11 to 30 minutes, €0.05/minute; 31 onward, €0.10/minute; daily maximum, €60 per day.
