Santander is more of a regional airport than an International one. Although it did handle 1.116.398 passengers in 2011 on 17.070 flight operations.
Ryanair are the only low cost carrier currently operating out of Santander.
Arrivals traffic passes along the ground floor of the passenger terminal through two gates. The general arrivals hall has a capacity for 630 passengers and includes the baggage reclaim area, passport control, customs and the arrivals lobby with vehicle hire services.
The departure traffic leaves from the ground floor of the terminal building . There are eight check-in desks and seven gates. The departures area also houses the shops and restaurants.
Parking: Santander airport currently has 785 parking spaces, 20 of which are reserved for people with disabilities. The car park and customer service desk is from 06:00 to 24:00,
vehicles may not enter or leave the car park outside of those times other than in exceptional circumstances. There is a free start up service for customers who fund their batteries are flat when picking up their vehicle.
