The Asturias airport is not yet that well known to the International air traveller as 95% of the passengers here are domestic ones. The airport feeds this beautiful part of northern Spain including the lovely areas of Gijon, Ovieda, Candas, Piedras Blancas, Mieres, Langreo, Grado and Pravia.

Asturias was the 19th busiest airport in 2011 with some 1.339.000 Million passengers on over 15.349 flight operations being carried out. The airport has 4 boarding gates on the ground floor and 5 on the first floor. Gates 5 and 6 are reserved for non-Schengen Pact flights.

Arrivals: There are four baggage reclaim carousels, one of which is reserved for international flights.

Departures: Departure traffic takes place on the ground floor and first floor of the passenger terminal. There are 14 check-in desks, with the airlines offering self-service check-in machines in the terminal hall. The airport has 4 boarding gates on the ground floor and 5 on the first floor. Gates 5 and 6 are reserved for non-Schengen Pact flights

Parking: Asturias airport has some 743 parking spaces and a further 12 for passengers with reduced mobility. There is also an area reserved for car hire companies. Parking charges are as follows: From minute 0 to minute 30, €0.014389 per minute; from minute 31 to minute 60, €0.017987 per minute; from minute 61, €0.016638 per minute; daily maximum up to four days €10.95; daily maximum as from the fifth day, €8.75. It is OPEN from 6:00 am to 12:30 pm, 365 days a year.


Catering / Shopping: There are a few shops and one main cafeteria, enough though to puchase a daily newspaper and enjoy a light meal, tapas or simply a nice cafe con leche ( Spanish coffee ) .
